Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan totaled $118.4 million in the first five months of 2025, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
Of that amount, Azerbaijan’s exports to Turkmenistan reached $19.2 million, while imports from Turkmenistan amounted to $99.2 million.
Overall, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade in January–May 2025 rose by 13.7% year-on-year to $20.9 billion. Exports totaled $11 billion, down 1.2% compared to the same period last year, while imports increased by 36.5% to $9.9 billion. As a result, the country recorded a foreign trade surplus of $1.03 billion — 3.7 times smaller than the surplus for all of 2024.
In 2024, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan showed significant growth, reaching nearly $400 million.
