“Rasul Rza” dry cargo vessel placed back into operation following major overhaul

A major overhaul has been completed on the “Rasul Rza” dry cargo vessel, which operates in international waters under the Azerbaijani flag and is owned by ASCO, one of the companies under AZCON Holding.

The repair work was carried out at the “Gisan” shipyard located in the city of Tuzla, Republic of Türkiye.

As part of the overhaul, the vessel’s main and auxiliary engines, pumps, and other mechanical systems were inspected and repaired. Pipework and electrical systems were installed, along with automation and hull welding operations.

The underwater and above-water parts of the hull were thoroughly cleaned using abrasive methods and repainted. The accommodation and service areas were fully renovated in accordance with modern maritime standards. The cargo holds were also cleaned and painted.

In addition, life-saving appliances and fire-fighting equipment underwent technical inspection.

Upon completion of the overhaul, “Rasul Rza” successfully passed all required technical inspections and was placed back into operation. The vessel is currently preparing for its next voyage.

It should be noted that “Rasul Rza” has been sailing in international waters under the Azerbaijani flag since 2016. The vessel is 108.33 metres long, 16.74 metres wide, and has a cargo capacity of 5,200 tonnes.
