Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, along with his accompanying delegation, visited the “Surakhani” Ship-Museum, which operates under the management of the “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” CJSC (ASCO) and is recognized as the world’s first tanker museum.
During the visit, guests were introduced to the ship-museum’s exhibitions, multimedia installations, and audiovisual systems. In honor of Minister Sibiha’s visit, a Ukrainian language option was added to the ship’s audio guide system, and the entire tour was conducted in Ukrainian. This step was regarded as a demonstration of ASCO’s commitment to international guests and its emphasis on multicultural values.
The delegation familiarized themselves with the exhibition halls of the museum and received detailed information about Azerbaijan’s rich maritime history and the legacy of ASCO — the oldest maritime company operating in the Caspian basin.
At the end of the visit, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha wrote a heartfelt message in the museum’s guest book, expressing his satisfaction with the visit and praising the efforts made to preserve Azerbaijan’s maritime heritage.
