US tariffs prompt shift in global supply chains toward Türkiye

Türkiye is poised to benefit from the latest changes in US trade policy, as rising tariffs imposed by Washington are expected to reroute a significant share of international logistics through the country.

According to Report, citing a source within Ankara’s financial sector, the new American customs measures are already showing signs of influencing global supply chains in Türkiye’s favor.

“We currently see positive prospects emerging from this new US trade policy,” the source stated. “These measures are impacting logistics and international supply routes. As a result, a substantial portion of supply chains will likely shift toward Türkiye. It’s essentially a matter of simple mathematics.”

The source elaborated that countries facing increased US tariffs will likely seek alternative trade pathways. “They’ll look to conduct trade through countries like Türkiye, where exports are only subject to a minimal 10% tariff and which maintain free trade agreements with various nations,” the source explained.
