The exhibition “Guardians of the Caspian: Lighthouses and Carpets”, a joint project of Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC and Azerkhalcha OJSC, continues its display at the “Surakhany” Ship-Museum, owned by ASCO.

Held in the “Navigation and Communication” hall of the ship-museum, the exhibition features carpets “Amburan,” “Absheron,” “Shuvalan,” “Chilov,” “Nargin (Boyuk Zira),” “Lankaran,” “Sangi Mughan,” and “Kur Dili,” woven at the Khachmaz workshop of Azerkhalcha and depicting eight lighthouses along the Caspian coast.

Additionally, the exhibition presents scale models of famous lighthouses from Azerbaijan and around the world, which are part of the “Surakhany” collection. In total, the tanker-museum’s collection includes 12 different lighthouse models.

This exhibition highlights the richness of carpet weaving, emphasizes the importance of preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the Caspian lighthouses, showcases the strong connection between carpets and lighthouses, and provides visitors with fascinating insights into Azerbaijani culture.
