“Aghdam” ferry was repaired and put back into operation

The dock repair of the “Aghdam” ferry, which is part of ASCO’s Merchant Fleet, has been completed. The repair work was carried out at the Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard.

During the repair process, hull welding, automation, and piping work were performed, and the main engines and various pumps were adjusted. The underwater and above-water parts of the ferry, as well as the wagon deck, were cleaned and repainted. Additionally, necessary improvements were made in the cabins to enhance the crew’s living conditions.

Furthermore, modern explosion-proof VHF handheld radios and speed measurement equipment (LAQ) were installed on the “Aghdam” ferry vessel. Repair and restoration work was also carried out on the ship’s black box and Public Address System.

After the completion of the process, the ferry vessel was put back into operation. Currently, “Aghdam” has departed from the Port of Alat and is en route to the Port of Turkmenbashi in Turkmenistan.

It should be noted that the “Aghdam” ferry vessel is 154.3 meters long, 18.3 meters wide, and has a maximum speed of 12.5 knots.
