A leak has been detected in the Oil Rocks-Chilov-Shah Sachi-Dubendi oil pipeline of the Azneft Production Union, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said in response to Report’s inquiry.
Information about a leak in the pipeline transporting oil from the Oil Rocks Oil and Gas Production Department (OGPD) area and the Gunashli field to the shore has been circulated on social networks and some media outlets.
“The mentioned oil pipeline carries out the transportation of oil and condensate from Oil Rocks to Dubandi direction. Despite the difficulties caused by windy weather conditions, appropriate steps are being taken to resolve the situation,” emphasized SOCAR.
It is reported that they are waiting for weather conditions to stabilize to ensure the safety of the crew that will carry out repair and restoration work: “Repair and restoration work will be completed once suitable conditions for safe operation are established.”
