The general meeting of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation was held.

At the general meeting of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation consisting of coaches, athletes, judges and technical staff chaired by the President of the Federation Taleh Ziyadov, the annual report, development strategy covering 4 years, last year’s financial report and additions and changes to the Federation’s Charter were approved.

At the meeting, General Secretary Ramil Hajiyev delivered a report on 2024 and presented the development strategy of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation covering the next 4 years and the financial report of the previous year.

Next, the head coach of the national team, Morteza Validarvi, took the floor to speak, emphasizing that Azerbaijan has advanced in the ranking list in exchange for the successful results obtained in international tournaments, and said that our team has formed a competitive team in different age groups.

The head of the marketing department of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation, Aydan Mammadhasanova, informed about the work done on the development of refereeing and noted that in 2024, our referees have been invited to a number of international tournaments.

At the meeting, former member of the national team, currently working as a coach, Orkhan Galandarov made a presentation on the work done and to be done on the development of this field in order to increase the mass.

Afterwards, elections were held for the membership of the board of directors.

In the open vote, Kamala Shahbazova and Teymur Huseynov were elected as the new vice-presidents of ABF, and Elio Bevilacqua and Jeyhun Mammadaliyev were elected as new members of the board of directors. An open discussion was held at the interactive meeting. Taleh Ziyadov said that a lot of work has been done in the direction of the development of badminton in our country in recent years and said that one of the main goals for the next 4 years is to increase the number of people actively engaged in this sport to 10,000.
