Position: Senior Control & Instrumentation Designer

We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Controls & Instrument Designers to join our Engineering team in Baku on a full-time, long-term contract basis. Please note only Azerbaijani citizens can be considered for this position.
Reporting to the Lead Instrument Designer, the main functions of the role will be the execution of Project work, in accordance with PD&MS and / or Project Procedures within the man-hour, cost budgets and project schedule targets.

Requirements:
Relevant technical background, knowledge of CAD drafting techniques and full understanding of materials and methods normally used within the Instrument discipline
Previous experience / knowledge of BP Caspian Sea assets, procedures and software is seen as an advantage
Willingness to attend site (offshore Caspian Sea) would be seen as advantageous
Plan and develop detailed design drawing / document packages from offshore reports
Produce cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
Preparation / checking of Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Cable Schedules. Hydraulic / Pneumatic / Process Hook-ups, Bill of Materials etc.
Review and signature check of drawings and documents generated by other Designers
Proficient in use of AutoCad and MS Office products
Computer literate (Data base / Tag Data Tool Spreadsheets)
Able to interpret, review and comment on P&IDs
Ability to address operational and maintenance issued in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
Respond to site / engineering queries
Progress reporting
Coaching and mentoring of less experienced Designers as required
Consult with and take direction from assigned Instrument Engineers
Attend Project meetings as required / requested, etc.

We’d like you to have a HND in a relevant subject and previous experience in detail design with an awareness of other disciplines. You need to be competent and have an interest in working with AutoDesk design products.
There will be the opportunity to work in other locations, both on and offshore so candidates may need you to travel and hold the relevant certification to do so.
