The construction of “Khoshbakht Yusifzade” tanker is scheduled to be completed in the late third quarter of 2022, engineer of the Baku Shipyard LLC Elmir Shamkhalli told Trend.
“We started building the tanker in 2020. In particular, the installed equipment is being tested. As of today, 250-300 local specialists have been involved in the construction,” he said.
Besides, the engineer noted that the tanker is designed to transport oil and petrochemicals.
“It’s equipped with special reservoirs (with capacity of more than 1,000 cubic meters) for the transportation of petrochemicals. The peculiarity of this tanker is that it’s able to go both at sea and on the river. Its width is 16.19 meters and its length – 141 meters,” Shamkhalli said.
Besides, according to him, the tanker is equipped with two lead engines with a capacity of 1,200 kilowatts each and four generators.
“Two tankers – “Lachin” and “Kalbajar” have been built and commissioned at our shipyard. A distinctive feature of “Khoshbakht Yusifzade” tanker is that it’s designed to transport not only oil, but also petrochemicals, including lubricants,” he added.
