The Training and Education Center under Azerbaijan State Marine Academy of CJSC Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) hosted a seminar for SAIPEM employees from Italy and Croatia who work as site- engineers on offshore vessels.
The seminar topic was “Added Value of Quality Standards to OPITO (Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization) through IMO’s (International Marine Organization) Regulatory Framework”.
The two-day seminar was introduced to the participants by Captain Titos Giannakakis and continued with instruction from the dedicated trainer for that course.
Also, during that safety course which is designed specifically for international professionals who had already completed OPITO’s BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency) training program, the added value of IMO’s Safety Regulations was explained to the course participants. In addition, the participants were informed on how IMO helped harmonize the quality standards of training in the offshore industry.
During the interactive training, the participants expressed their opinions and got answers to their questions.
