A Chinese fishing boat was found capsized off South Korea’s west coast, Xinhua news agency reported on Sunday.
The Coast Guard of South Korea reported that a Chinese boat was found near Baengnyeong Island at 12 a.m. local time on Sunday, the Chinese embassy in South Korea confirmed.
The vessel was nearly submerged when discovered, according to the Coast Guard.
A joint search and rescue operation has been launched after the incident, but no victim or survivor has been found as of yet.
The rescue operation continues while the rescue squad faced difficulties in entering the capsized boat due to bad weather.
