A meeting with the honors students of the 4th course of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy was held in the Caspian Shipping Company.
The Chairman of the Shipping Company Rauf Veliyev congratulated the representatives of the youth who are preparing to become graduates of the Academy, with the successes achieved in their studies. Rauf Veliyev stressed that there is a constant need for competent and professional young personnel in the Shipping Company. Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company successfully implements a number of projects to master the knowledge and skills that meet international standards. The Chairman of the Shipping Company noted that each year 2 students from the Academy get an opportunity for study in the world’s most influential marine educational institutions at the expense of the Shipping Company. During the meeting the honors students were encouraged by Rauf Veliyev. So, the graduates who successfully passed the exams and interview will receive letters of recommendation for work in the Shipping Company.
Attending the meeting, the captain Giannakakis Titos said that at the present the seamanship is one of the important professions all over the world. Therefore, young people who have excelled in their studies should have a perfect knowledge of practical skills. Mr. Titos considers the support of youth support by the Shipping Company as an expedient step, urging future seafarers to use the very of the conditions created for them.
Head of the Human Resource Management Department of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, Sevda Mammadova highly appreciated the increase in the number of honors students in the Academy. Sevda Mammadova noted that there is a great necessity in the Shipping Company for professional captains, captains’ assistants and mechanics. The head of the department also stressed that for the students of the Academy all conditions were created for them to practice on vessels of the Shipping Company, floating in foreign waters, in order to increase their professional training.
The students of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy expressed gratitude to the management of the Shipping Company for the attention and care shown to them. At the end of the meeting, students addressed their questions.
