Shipyards of ACSC repair vessels of foreign countries

The vessels of foreign countries are also being repairing at the ship repair yards of Azerbaijan. Currently, “Zigh” Ship repair yard took an order from abroad for the first time in 2017. Thus, “Vesalius” vessel, which belongs to Belgian company “Jan De Nul” was set for repair at the Ship repair yard.

This vessel was put into operation in 1980 and was temporarily floating under the flag of Kazakhstan. The “Vesalius” vessel is 90m long, 17m width, 5m height, with total capacity of 1855 tons provides dredging operations.

The repair works on dock are already completed. Thereafter, the repairs on surface will be conducted. At the present, work is under way to clean pipes and pumps of floating equipment, platforms are installed on cranes, the air exhaust device of the marine engine is being repaired. Further, it has been envisaged to replace the pipeline system running through the ballast warehouses, and the doors, as well as replace the pipes of absorption of soil and other rocks.

The workers of yard pay special attention to the quality of repairs, and plan to hand in the “Vesalius” vessel 5 days ahead of schedule by the end of March – 5 days before the scheduled time. According to the customer the work of the ship repair specialists meets all requirements, considering experience and performance complex technical tasks.

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company has the region’s most powerful ship repair base. Along with receiving orders from abroad it is also important in terms of bringing a foreign currency to the country.

It should be reminded that, only last year 9 of 43 vessels repaired in “Zigh” Ship repair yard had been owned to foreign countries.
